It pairs a mature consumer app with modern protocols, useful security tools, broad location coverage, and consistently strong results in current independent VPN comparisons. The service is easy enough for a beginner to leave on automatic settings, yet it still gives experienced users specialty routing and protocol choices.

The 9.5/10 score is an editorial assessment built from provider documentation, published assurance material, and recent independent reviews. PacketProof has not reproduced those third-party speed or streaming tests. Performance can change with distance, local network conditions, device, server load, and the destination service.

Privacy and logging

NordVPN operates from Panama and states that it does not retain browsing activity, traffic destinations, DNS queries, or identifying connection logs.
